Production and Operations roles explained
Data Analyst
A Data Analyst uses player data to provide insights into game design, player behaviour, and monetisation, helping the studio make informed decisions.
As a Data Analyst, you’ll work with large datasets to track player engagement, retention, and spending patterns. You’ll analyse this data to identify trends and opportunities for improving gameplay, progression systems, or in-game purchases. Your insights will help guide game updates and balance changes.
Many Data Analysts have degrees in data science, statistics, or economics, with experience using tools like SQL, Python, or R to analyse large datasets.
For this role, you should enjoy working with numbers and data. You’ll need strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate your findings clearly to the development team.
Your portfolio should include examples of data analysis projects you’ve worked on, highlighting how your insights have helped improve game design or player engagement.
