Production and Operations roles explained

Financial Accountant

A Financial Accountant in the games industry ensures that the studio’s finances are managed effectively, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll manage the studio’s financial records, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. You’ll also work with senior management to create budgets, track expenses, and provide financial insights that help guide business decisions.

Many Financial Accountants have a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with certification (such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA). Experience with financial software and strong analytical skills are also essential.

For this job, you should be someone who enjoys working with numbers, has great attention to detail, and is skilled at managing budgets and financial reports. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the studio’s financial health and long-term sustainability.

Since competition is tough, your CV should highlight your accounting expertise and experience managing finances in fast-paced environments.
