26 Mar 2026

Have you ever dreamed of creating your own video game? This could be your first step! Submit a concept and practise your skills!
With the exercises in the Get Into Games booklet, you can build up your game concept. Now, it’s time to finalize your creation and submit it for feedback.
Whether your game is a platformer, a puzzle adventure, or an epic quest, we want to see your unique vision. This is your opportunity to think and create like a real game designer!
All participants who submit their completed workbook will receive personalised feedback from games industry professionals. This is a fantastic way to learn what works well in your design and how you could improve it.
It’s the perfect preparation for the BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition.
The Young Game Designers (YGD) is one of BAFTA’s initiatives to promote the art and craft of games. It specifically targets the next generation of talent, giving young people and educators insights into the industry and access to the brightest creative minds in games.

Ready to take the first step? Here’s what you need to do
Complete the exercises in your booklet, focusing on your game summary, unique mechanics, story, and artwork.
Take a video of yourself explaining your work. This can be taken from a phone, and show what you’ve made in the pages of your workbook.
Gather your submission, including your game concept, art, and level maps as outlined.
