Financial Director

Finance Directors are responsible for a company’s commercial well-being. They analyse business performance and design and execute strategies to ensure a company’s financial security and growth. 

Interpersonal and communication skills are needed to report information to non-financial and financial roles in the company including shareholders and investors.

An understanding of the games' industry, managerial experience, and a senior background in accountancy are also paramount for this role.

Most people working as a Financial Director have a degree in Business, Maths or Accountancy. You should be someone who loves analytical thinking, strategic planning and being organised. 

As a professional, you’ll be responsible for driving the financial strategy for the game studio. You’ll analyse business performance and risks in order to set and control budgets for the company. For your work, you’ll be familiar with accountancy software like Xero and Sage. 

Working in the games industry is highly competitive and you’ll need to make sure your CV stands out to employers and course leaders.
