Community and Marketing roles explained
Campaign Manager
A Campaign Manager is responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns to promote a game before and after its release. They make sure the right audience knows about the game and feels excited to play it.
As a Campaign Manager, you’ll work with the marketing team to design campaigns across various platforms—social media, streaming platforms, gaming forums, and more. You’ll also coordinate with influencers, content creators, and media outlets to build anticipation and drive engagement. You’ll need to track the success of these campaigns, adjusting strategies based on feedback and data to ensure the marketing efforts achieve their goals.
Many Campaign Managers have degrees in marketing, communications, or business, but what’s most important is a proven track record of managing successful campaigns. You’ll need to demonstrate your ability to manage budgets, plan timelines, and create exciting marketing strategies that connect with the gaming audience.
For this job, you should be passionate about games and enjoy working in fast-paced environments where creativity and analytical thinking go hand in hand. You'll also need to be organised, able to juggle multiple tasks, and have excellent communication skills.
Like other roles in the games industry, it’s competitive, and your portfolio should showcase successful campaigns you’ve managed, with data to demonstrate the impact of your strategies.
