Design roles explained

Content Designer

A Content Designer focuses on creating in-game content, such as quests, missions, or interactive elements, that aligns with the game’s overall narrative and design.

As a Content Designer, you’ll work on designing engaging content that fits within the game’s mechanics and story. This can include writing quests, creating dialogue trees, and designing encounters or puzzles that challenge players while advancing the game’s story.

Many Content Designers have degrees in game design, creative writing, or similar fields, with experience in narrative design or level design.

For this role, you should love storytelling and game mechanics. You’ll need creativity and an understanding of how to create engaging content that fits within the game world.

Your portfolio should include examples of in-game content you’ve designed, such as quests, missions, or narrative sequences, showcasing your creativity and design skills.
