Community and Marketing roles explained
PR Manager
A PR Manager is responsible for maintaining the public image of a game studio, handling media relations, press releases, and brand communications.
As a PR Manager, you’ll work with journalists, influencers, and content creators to promote your studio and its games. You’ll manage press releases, coordinate interviews, and ensure that your studio gets positive media coverage. You’ll also handle crisis communications if necessary, protecting the reputation of the studio and its projects.
Many PR Managers have degrees in public relations, communications, or marketing, along with experience in media relations or brand management. Strong writing, communication, and relationship-building skills are crucial.
For this role, you should be someone who enjoys working with the media, managing brand image, and crafting messages that resonate with the public. You’ll need to stay calm under pressure and be able to manage sensitive issues professionally.
Your portfolio should include examples of press campaigns you’ve managed and media coverage you’ve secured, demonstrating your ability to build positive relationships and shape public perception.
