Production and Operations roles explained
Product Manager
A Product Manager focuses on a game’s lifecycle, ensuring its long-term success through updates, features, and content that keep players engaged.
As a Product Manager, you’ll develop strategies for game updates, manage the post-launch roadmap, and oversee live operations. You’ll collaborate with designers, marketing teams, and developers to plan new features, track user feedback, and analyse market trends to guide the game’s future.
Many Product Managers have backgrounds in business, marketing, or game development, with strong skills in project management and data analysis.
For this role, you should be someone who enjoys strategy and long-term planning. You’ll need strong communication skills and a deep understanding of both game development and market trends.
Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to manage a game’s lifecycle, with examples of how your decisions have positively impacted user retention and game performance.
