Design roles explained
Voice Director
A Voice Director oversees the recording of voiceovers in a game, working closely with voice actors and sound designers to ensure the performances match the characters and narrative.
As a Voice Director, you’ll guide voice actors through recording sessions, helping them deliver performances that align with the game’s story and character personalities. You’ll work closely with sound engineers to ensure that the voice recordings are of high quality and fit seamlessly into the game.
Many Voice Directors have backgrounds in acting, directing, or sound design, with experience in managing voiceover sessions and working with actors.
For this role, you should love storytelling and have strong communication skills. You’ll need to be able to direct actors to deliver the right emotions and tones for their characters.
Your portfolio should include examples of voiceover projects you’ve directed, showcasing your ability to guide actors and manage high-quality audio production.
