Community and Marketing roles explained

Esports Shoutcaster

Shoutcasters are the voices of esports, commentating on tournament games at real-world events and online.

Some, but not all Esports Shoutcasters have a degree in media or drama. Most importantly, you should be someone that can think on their feet, loves to entertain and possesses understanding and passion for the sport.

As a professional, you’ll be keeping the audiences of Esport games informed and engaged by providing running commentary throughout the match. Great game knowledge and charisma will help you build a good reputation and a loyal following on your chosen platform for example YouTube or Twitch. Most Shoutcasters create their own content to build valuable work experience.

Working in the games industry is highly competitive and you’ll need to make sure your portfolio (a collection of your best work) and or CV stands out to employers and course leaders.

As an Esports Shoutcaster your body of work should showcase your style and personality. You should include your best work that demonstrates your ability to be articulate, insightful and entertaining.
