Rare renews its partnership with Into Games!

Great news! For the third year running, the folks at legendary studio Rare have returned as our Lead Into Games Partners.
The team at Rare have been a kind and faithful supporter of Into Games’ work to tackle social mobility in the heart of their communities, and this represents our biggest partnership yet.
In 2025, we’ll be working alongside the amazing development team in Twycross to build a brand new Waypoint in Birmingham and the surrounding region. This means, no matter what stage in your games career journey you are, there’s a point of access to learn more about games through a direct link to a local industry professional.
Birmingham has a rapidly growing games scene, multiple fantastic games university courses, as well as a local BTEC course right on the doorstep of Rare’s flagship studio. Birmingham is also a proudly working class area, with many talented young people excited to learn more about the possibilities of one day working in games. We’ll be working with Rare throughout the year to ensure that everyone in the region, no matter their background, has a chance to make games and build their dream career.
Throughout 2025, we’ll be delivering;
- A major games careers festival in Birmingham for 400+ attendees from the local area
- At least 10 interactive workshops in secondary schools with a high provision of free school meals, delivered by Rare developers
- A £1000 bursary to be distributed to local individuals from low-income backgrounds to support their games career journey
- The return of We’re Hiring, our virtual, interactive hiring event for career seekers to grab an internship at Rare in December
- A partnership with local universities and colleges to provide live briefs for Game Design students, created and judged by Rare
Our partnership with Rare is vital in our work to create Waypoints in Birmingham and across the UK, to ensure that no young person gets left behind on their journey into the games industry.
A massive thank you to the whole team at Rare for supporting our work, and for investing in the future of passionate, talented young people and career seekers in the region.
