Chucklefish to support a fairer UK games sector...

We’re delighted to announce that the London studio, Chucklefish, will be one of our main partners for 2026.

Chucklefish are an independent games studio based in London, UK, that develops and publishes its own games, including the global hit, Starbound.

This year, as part of our ongoing regional Waypoints strategy, we’ll focus our delivery on individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds in our key target regions, including London.

London offers world-leading game development courses, a dedicated and passionate careers hub, and strong connections to the vibrant global game development scene. Our partnership will ensure that young people in the region have access to the support they need to pursue a career in the games industry.

Throughout the next year, our teams will collaborate on;

  • Interactive games careers workshops in secondary schools with a high provision of free school meals
  • Distribution of a regional Boost bursary to support individuals from low-income backgrounds get their first role in games
  • Plus, our Get into Games festival to help talent get the advice and guidance they need towards a career in games

Our partnerships with game studios are vital in supercharging our regional work to level the playing field and make games a viable career option for talented, enthusiastic, and resilient young people across the UK.

COO of Chucklefish, Donna Orlowski stated;

“We are excited to be partnering with Into Games to support this year's Waypoint initiative. At Chucklefish, we believe that a truly innovative industry is one that is accessible to all, regardless of background. By fostering socio-economic diversity, we unlock the critical thinking needed to tell authentic stories that resonate with real players, in the real world. Initiatives like Waypoint are key to elevating underrepresented talent, and we're so happy to be supporting them in their mission.”

A massive thank you to the Chucklefish team for supporting our work to help those from low socio-economic backgrounds pursue their dream career in games.
