Empowering Regional Talent: nDreams Academy Summer Pipeline

We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on the nDreams Academy Summer Pipeline, a groundbreaking programme launched in partnership with Into Games and nDreams. This initiative is all about nurturing diverse, local talent—and this summer, we’re working hand-in-hand to make real impact across Hampshire and Sussex.
Statistics show that just 13 % of games industry professionals come from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Together with nDreams, we’re challenging that norm by bringing opportunity and inspiration directly to our local communities—unlocking the doors of the games industry for those who might otherwise never enter.
1. Igniting Aspirations at Bohunt Farnborough
Our partnership kicks off with an interactive workshop during Bohunt Farnborough’s Creative Careers Week. Thanks to our Into Games games workbooks, bought to life by nDreams staff students engage in:
- Game design thinking
- Crafting their own game briefs
- Entering the BAFTA Young Designers competition
By introducing pupils just before their GCSEs, we’re planting the earliest seeds of inspiration—and arming them with workbooks and tools to continue exploring beyond the school gates.
2. Immersive Pathways: 16+ Summer Programme
The collaboration deepens as we welcome a cohort of 16–18-year-olds from low-income backgrounds to a week-long, immersive Into Games summer programme with support from GAIN. Delivered in the spirit of true industry mentorship, participants:
- Build critical skills in game creation
- Work through an industry-style game brief
- Learn through close guidance from both Into Games and nDreams tutors.
This immersive format builds confidence, community, and clarity around career pathways in our region.
3. Real On‑Site Experience at nDreams Studios
Next, shortlisted students are invited into the heart of the action. Work placements are being offered at the nDreams studios in Farnborough and Brighton, across:
- Programming
- Art
- Audio
Participants shadow professionals and chip in on ongoing projects, gaining real-world insights not just into tasks - but into what it means to work in games.
4. Launching Careers: Autumn Junior Roles
The final stage allows workshop and placement participants to progress—automatically entering the interview stage for paid, six-month junior roles at nDreams in Farnborough and Brighton. With tailored professional development and extensive studio training, this programme offers a genuine springboard into the industry ndreams.com.
This partnership is more than an initiative - it’s a pipeline reshaping access to careers in games for the next generation across the region. By combining Into Games’ deep expertise in accessibility with nDreams’ studio excellence and deep desire to help improve its community, we’re creating a proven regional model for inclusive change.
