RS25 Future Talent Pathway: The Next Generation of Game Makers!

We are absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news from the RS25 Future Talent Pathway! The first stage of the program was delivered to an incredible response last week from young explorers, storytellers, and game makers across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Launched to celebrate RuneScape's 25th anniversary, this initiative with our friends at Jagex was designed to do one simple thing: inspire the next generation to take their first steps into the world of game development. And inspire, it has!
Workshops in Full Swing
Over the past few weeks, brilliant volunteers from Jagex have been visiting schools across the region to deliver free games workshops. In each session, students have been diving headfirst into the fundamentals of game design, and learning about wider careers in the industry.

"The volunteers were fantastic! They got a wide variety of questions from my students that they handled like pros and the students left very excited by the competition. "
Amber Walker, Careers Office Manager, St. Peter’s School, Huntingdon
Why It Matters
For many of these young people, this is the first time they've considered that a career in video games could be for them. Whether they love drawing, writing stories, solving puzzles, or even composing music, there's a place for them in this industry.
The RS25 Future Talent Pathway is about showing students that their ideas matter, and that with a little practice and belief, they can turn a passion for play into a fulfilling career.
What's Next?
The journey is far from over! Here's what's coming up:
- Workbook Support Session (March 29th):
We're hosting a special drop-in session at Makespace Cambridge from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. If any students need extra help with their workbooks or just want a creative space to draw and write alongside others, our volunteers will be there to help! Reserve your spot here: https://luma.com/ubxgs42e

Submission Deadline (April 5th):
There's still time to get those final ideas down on paper! Completed workbooks can be submitted for a chance to receive personalised feedback from games industry professionals, the perfect practice for the BAFTA Young Game Designers Awards.
Want to get involved?
If you're a young person in the Cambridgeshire area and haven't started your workbook yet, it's not too late! Visit intogames.org/rs25 to find resources, tips, and everything you need to enter.
A Massive Thank You

A huge thank you to Jagex for their vision and commitment to nurturing local talent. To the Raspberry Pi Foundation and ScreenSkills, your support helps us reach even more young people and provide resources that make a real difference.
And finally, to every single student who has picked up a pencil, dreamed up a character, or scribbled down a game idea: keep going. Your adventure has only just begun.
We can't wait to play your game!
