Godot
Godot is a free game engine that allows you to make 2D and 3D games however you like; through drag-and-drop visual scripting, or through writing code. It has its own physics and illumination systems, and you can animate anything in your scene. Godot is open-source, which means you can write your own extensions for it, and it supports lots of different programming languages, so programmers can try something new or get better at the language you already use!
