Pico-8

PICO-8 is a self-contained game engine for making small 2D games. It has built-in tools for editing code, music, sound, sprites, and maps, and you can only use the tools in PICO-8, and anything you can code in Lua. Even if you're not a programmer, you'll still find it a fun tool for making music and sprites! When you're done, you can save PICO-8 games in a special .png format and send them to friends, or export them to HTML5, Windows, Mac and Linux apps. You can also download other people's games and use PICO-8 to look at the code, to get ideas and study the code, graphics and sound.
