Twine
Twine can be used to create simple stories or complex branching narratives in HTML. In Twine, you write different passages of text and then connect them together by turning various words into links between the passages. It’s a great place to start making and experimenting with interactive narratives.
Advanced users can use variables, conditional logic, images, CSS, and JavaScript to do even more with their Twine stories.
You can use Twine online in your web browser or download it free for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. Twine is quite popular and there are lots of tutorials plus many games made in Twine to draw inspiration from.
