As we rocket through this year, Into Games are once again delighted to announce a new Industry Partner to our roster of game studios and organisations. The wonderful folks at Sumo Group - the publishers and developers behind some of the best loved games and studios across the UK - have joined for 2022!

As one of the largest publishers and studio groups in the industry, Sumo Group are hugely influential and have used that influence to spearheaded initiatives like the Sumo Academy, to move the needle on representation and access to opportunities in the UK games industry.

Our Head of Partnerships & Development had this to add on the announcement:

“We’ve been working with the team at Sumo Group for a couple of years now - they were hugely supportive when we kicked off our game jam Side Quest in 2020, and we’ve been big believers in one another’s work since. The Sumo Academy is a shining example of how the industry can make a tangible difference in the way people access games industry opportunities. We’re so excited to work with the developers and wider team at Sumo, to help them do more of the work we know they are so passionate about.”

Over the next year, Into Games will work closely with Leon Killin and the wider Sumo Group: Prism subgroup, supporting champions of diversity and inclusion across the organisation to grow as educators and mentors. Not only that, but we’ll work to showcase great initiatives like the Sumo Academy, and collaborate to make apprenticeships a viable opportunity for underrepresented talent across the UK.

Leon Killin, EDI Manager at Sumo Group added this on the partnership:

"We're incredibly excited to be partnering with Into Games. Sumo Group is committed to working towards meaningful and enduring diversity across the industry, and to raising awareness of games development as a viable career choice. Joining forces with the team at Into Games will help drive that widespread change we want to see"

Watch out for upcoming events, talks, workshops and more alongside our friends at Sumo Group over the coming year, as we work together to make the UK games industry - and the paths into it - accessible, rewarding, and inclusive!
